Well, not really. But we got my uncle a new puppy. We’d been contemplating getting him a springer for awhile, and once we heard that he might get himself one, we spoiled the surprise and told him that we found one for him. That was about 3 weeks ago, and now he has a puppy.
Her name’s Lucy, and she’s 7 weeks old, and is so tiny and cute. She has a little Cindy Crawford brown patch on her cheek, and it’s adorable. We drove up to Marysville yesterday afternoon to pick her up from the woman keeping her, and when we arrived, she was sitting on the couch, just waiting for us. It was so funny, because when we took her outside to go potty, Gary, my uncle started up his car from his remote, and it scared the crap out of her, so she ran across the yard yelping. I got her back though, and she sat in my lap, asleep almost the whole way home. So we left home at 3:30 and we got back to grandpa’s house at about 9:10. It was a long day, but it was so damn worth it.
Oh, and the coolest thing was that when we gave her food and water at grandpa’s house and mom put down a puppy pee pad on the floor, she peed right on it! Not on the kitchen floor, not on the carpet, but on the training pad! We were so proud of her.
I love puppies.
Sometimes more than babies because they don’t smell bad when they poop and you don’t have to change diapers and they don’t cry as much. And they are more durable, in a sense, in the fact that they can walk for themselves, and can do things more for themselves than babies. And you don’t need to clothe them. It would be weird if you just had your baby naked all the time.
I’m so excited for her now.
This is a crappy cell phone picture of her and I. We were on the ferry in Gary’s car.
